Boy Sets Himself on Fire While Burning Ant Hills
In a story of sweet irony from the point of view of the ants involved, a 12-year-old Texas boy is in critical condition after setting himself on fire while sending ant hills up in flames in his backyard.
The boy had armed himself with a can of gasoline and a lighter, heading into his backyard to douse individual ant hills and set them alight, presumably taking some pleasure in the insects’ deaths. Unfortunately for the ant killer, his own tools worked against him when an open flame reached the five gallon container of gasoline that he had stationed nearby. Police were called to the scene once the boy’s parents were alerted to his dilemma, but not before he sustained third degree burns to more than 80 percent of his body.
While we wish the boy a speedy recovery, this story shines as one that proves that foul play often leads to foul play, and dumbass decisions beget dumbass results.
And please, won’t somebody think of the ants!
