Cheerleader Makes Amazing Front Flip Half-Court Shot

Whether you’re a basketball fan or not, you’ll surely appreciate this show of extreme athleticism from Ashlee Arnau, a 21-year-old multi-talented cheerleader at William Carey University in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

During the halftime show of a men’s basketball game last week, Arnau attempted a shot that, to her knowledge, had never been attempted before. With the ball placed on the floor at center court, the young lady runs towards it, performs a full front flip, and then lets the ball fly towards the basket as she rights herself.

Believe it or not, she hits nothing but net. Check it out below:

Given its sheer difficulty, the shot has gone viral, drawing even the attention of Firefly Fisher of the Harlem Globetrotters, who was in town to promote his team’s game in Hattiesburg later this week. In exchange for teaching him a cartwheel variation of her famous shot, the Globetrotters will have Arnau attempt to repeat the sequence during the halftime show at their game.

In a world full of the dumbassery that we cover day after day, it’s great to see that the gene pool still leads to this kind of effort and awesome once in a while!
